用过量于辛酸的对甲基苯酚(摩尔比1∶1
2)与适量三氯氧磷作为催化剂加热反应脱水转化而成。

用途
70多年前已在日化香精中得到普遍使用,特别在配制大花茉莉、铃兰、依兰、晚香玉等香精起着修饰作用;在配制水仙花型也是一种辅料。通常用至最终产品中的浓度为香皂0.02%～0.1%;洗涤剂0.002%～0.01%;香水0.1%～0.4%;膏霜和其他0.01%～0.05%。
