(Bis(trifluoroacetoxy)iodo)benzene, C10H5F6IO4, is a hypervalent iodine compound used as a reagent in organic chemistry. The reagent is used in an acidic modification of the Hofmann rearrangement. One example is the conversion of cyclobutanecarboxamide to cyclobutylamine hydrochloride. It also brings around the conversion of a hydrazone to a diazo compound, for example in the diazo-thioketone coupling. It also converts thioacetals to their parent carbonyl compounds.

生产方法
1.1.485克(5.41毫摩尔)二氯化碘苯加到2.39克(10.8毫摩尔)三氟乙酸钾在17毫升乙银的溶液中。过滤,滤液经冻干所得产物含微量三氟乙酸银。 2.2克亚碘酰苯和4毫升重蒸三氟乙酸在水汽浴上加热45分钟。倾入乙醚(50毫升)中,蒸去部分乙醚即析出黄白色晶体,用少量乙醚洗涤以洗去颜色。 3.20克二乙酸碘苯溶于30毫升热的三氟乙酸中,得15克(53%)。二(三氟乙酸)碘苯即结晶而出.,第一份在固体氢氧化钠干燥器中干燥,是足够纯的,此化合物可以从丙酮一石油醚中重结晶,再冷却至0℃,又可得又一份产物,但含二乙酸盐而严重不纯。 此外,还有用三(二氟乙酸)碘与苯发生亲电取代的制法
用途
1.用于在酸性条件下酮类的α-羟基化,也用于氟化作用试剂等。
2.醚的分裂试剂,特别用于苄基醚。氧化剂,氧化伯醇成醛,仲醇成酮,对二酚成醌,硫醇成二硫化物,氢化偶氮苯成偶氮苯。一也用于Hoffmann降解反应。
